WHO WE ARE

Deep Life is a partnership between large industries, startups, philanthropic institutions, academics, policymakers,entrepreneurs, and venture capitalists. It is a deliberate effort to bridge the gap between the technology and the healthcare industries to work together to create and accelerate large-scale, positive change.

Our mission is to help life sciences organizations design and build solutions faster and with purpose so they can bring better products to market and reach global scale.

We believe a deeper partnership between people and organizations in life science and computer science will unlock new possibilities for longer life and better health for all of humanity, as well as the planet, itself.

STARTUPS

We are excited by visionary teams with multi-disciplinary founders energized to solve some of the world’s biggest  problems occuring at the intersection of biology and machine learning. We are looking to invest in teams that are willing to think about discovery differently: Where algorithms, not people, are the consumers of data.  

WE ARE LOOKING FOR TEAMS THAT

  • Generate data that is more effective than current approaches

  • Use simple measurements to generate complex, high-content readouts through generative models

  • Combine data modalities and sets that would shed new insights (e.g., molecular and imaging based complex phenotypes)

  • Use earlier, simpler readouts to predict complex downstream outcomes through reinforcement learning, multiple instance learning, etc.

  • Understand the molecular vocabulary of cells, host organisms and their subcomponents

  • Build data platforms for biology growing from distributed, asynchronous efforts into an open source whole

INDUSTRY PARTNERS

We are excited to welcome partners who want to work with startups to catalyze change in their organizations and industries. Their role will be to help us to identify how new technologies can accelerate innovation in the field, as well as to advise startups on product-market fit and strategy, and/or provide additional resources.
